Nerves will sew by means of hair
Experts of Medical school of University Vejk Forest (Wake Forest University School of Medicine), the State of North Carolina, the USA, have come to conclusion, that the protein which has been found out in human hair can become a basis of regeneration of a nervous fabric, informs Newswise. buy cefadroxil
It means possibility of creation of a new medicine for restoration of nervous fibres if they are broken off as a result of a trauma. The report on opening of scientists is published in last release of magazine "Biomaterials" (Biomaterials).
During experiments with mice scientists have established, that the protein promotes acceleration of regeneration of a nervous fabric and improves its function in comparison with existing ways of treatment.
Known treatment for today includes microsurgical operation during which time the ends of the damaged nerve sew, using thus nervous fibres from other part of a body or connecting them by means of a hollow tube so that nervous fibres could grow in it. The first way is more effective, however it approaches not to everything, and, the trauma of other part of a body besides, is thus put. The second way can be used only in the event that length of rupture of less three or four centimetres and if to the patient of less than 17 years - after that nervous fibres grow badly.
Experts have studied influence on activity cages which play a key role in restoration of nerves. Experiments were spent on mice at which cut out 4 mm of a nerve that is rather considerable, considering the size of an animal as a whole. Scientists allocated from the hair collected in hairdressing salons, cleared it and then with gel filled a tube placed between the ends of nervous fibres. buy cefadroxil
In six weeks nerves have started to recycle at 100 % of animals with a tube filled with gel, and only at 50 % of mice with hollow connection. Besides, at «groups» were faster both growth rate of nervous fibres and speed of transfer of nervous impulses. As a whole results were comparable with results of change of nerves, the doctor of sciences Mark Van Dajk (Mark Van Dyke), one of authors of research marks.
gel will be useful also experts of other American university who have learnt to return ability to move to the mice paralysed because of rupture of a spinal cord. The technology applied by employees of Medical school of David Dzheffena (David Geffen School of Medicine) at University of California in Los Angeles (University of California at Los Angeles), consists in making of new nervous ways bypassing a rupture place.
